The joker mask is probably my most favorite masks. They stand out the most to me and no other mask has the same facial features as the joker. Sometimes people think these masks are frightening or not appealing. They are my most favorite because in my opinion they are the most exotic and unique.

There are many different types of masks to collect and admire. My favorite however would be the joker masks and the full/half faced masks. The reason why i enjoy the joker masks is because they are so different from the other masks in my opinion. The have a more distinctive face. The full.half faces mask also grab my attention by being able to hide your identity fully. Also I think that these represent what a true mask is.

I told you how I first started collecting masks and why. Now I'm going to go into detail about where I buy my masks and where I have gotten then all. My first mask I got off of Ebay along with majority of my other masks. My first one was black with no feathers. I later got a lot more masks in all sorts of colors and designs. I also have many little glass masks used for decor. This summer my mother went down to New Orleans and got me some really neat masks. The joker masks I would have to say are me favorite! :) I own two great big sparkly masks and some doll figures as well.

The term venetian mask comes from an old tradition in Venice Italy. The masks were used in an old traditional carnival in Venice. The masks were mainly used to hide or enhance a persons identity. People would use the masks for criminal purposes, communication and romance. Each mask is characterized by their own ornate design. Full faced and eye masks are the most common.

Lady GaGa was the first to introduce me to the venetian masks. I became obsessed with her as well as the masks. I watched her music videos and style very closely. I was in love. So now with two new obsessions, I decided to make it come to life with a solo dance at drill team night to Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance". While doing this dance, yes, I wore a black venetian mask with tall feathers and glitter. I wore a black Lady GaGa shirt with red shorts. The crowd loved it! To this day, when people see or hear about Lady GaGa or masks of any sort, they always think of me. :)

I first started collecting venetian masks when I first say Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" music video. It has her coming out of a pool of water while wearing a silver mask. I was interested at once. After that I looked into the masks to see what exactly they were, and now I have been collecting ever since.

My blog is going to be about my hobby of collecting and admiring venetian masks. I enjoy loving each mask and they're something very unique and I love admiring each different mask. Each different mask that I own makes me feel a different emotion.
